Before Sept. 11, 2001, Andrea Nierenberg of New York-based The Nierenberg Group conducted a survey in conjunction with New York University's Management Institute that asked the question, "How would you describe your office environment in terms of the weather?" Before Nierenberg released the results, the terrorist attack on the United States occurred.
