Ski lovers have something to look forward to with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts announcement that it will open the Fairmont Vail in time for the 2011 winter season. The Toronto-based hospitality company has partnered with HCT Development to develop the new Colorado project. The layout of the new property also lends itself to hosting incentive travel programs.
"Fairmont Vail will offer 128 rooms and will house a significant number of guests to accommodate large groups, yet will maintain the charming, warm service that Fairmont is known for, which incentive travelers will appreciate," says John Meissner, executive director, corporate markets for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
Upon the resort opening, Fairmont Vail guests can expect a selection of dining destinations, a 10,000 square foot Willow Stream Spa and access to a wide range of recreational activities including Nordic skiing, snowboarding, heli-skiing in the winter, and biking, fishing, golfing and more in the summer months.
The incentive industry is already showing interest according to Meissner. "As Vail offers the ease of meeting in a domestic meeting site and with the celebrated service and offerings of Fairmont, we do have incentive planners already looking at the new resort for future groups," he says.
