Training Matters -- And How!

Show Wrap-Up: Training Matters -- And How!

Enthusiasm for this mantra and passion for training permeated the halls of Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center during the 2015 Training Conference & Expo.

Dave Carroll wrote a song about it. Dana Gaines Robinson came out of retirement to talk about it. Organizations submit extensive Training Top 125 applications to prove it. And the 1,900-plus Training 2015 Conference & Expo attendees got the message loud and clear: Training Matters!

Enthusiasm for this mantra and passion for training permeated the halls of Atlanta's Georgia World Congress Center February 9-11 as Training 2015 attendees learned best practices, explored new products and services, networked, and donned Training Matters T-shirts for a rousing closing reception sing-along led by singer/songwriter Dave Carroll and master trainer/expert kazoo and ukulele player Jane Bozarth.

In addition to providing a keynote on the power of storytelling, Carroll wrote the Training Matters song—with input from the Training magazine community—and created an exclusive video. Companies are welcome to create their own customized Training Matters video using the lyrics of the chorus and the music from the song. Other conference highlights:

  • Training tips and best practices from 12 certificate programs, 16 featured sessions, 11 hands-on clinics, and nearly 100 breakout sessions.
  • New products and services from 103 exhibitors and 30 sponsored sessions, plus Crash Course Learning on the Expo Stage.
  • Insights from keynoters Carroll, Gaines Robinson, Michelle Gielan, Shawn Achor, Wes Moore, and John Ratzenberger on turning learning into doing, implementing workplace routines that fuel optimism, and focusing on training that has an impact on learners' lives. Training does make a difference.
