Two years ago, my work-world changed; so did my identity. I used to have time. Time with my students. Time with my colleagues. Time with my family. Since COVID-19, everything has become compressed. For example, I have shorter meetings—and more of them.
There are two things to do every time you meet (virtually or in person):
1. Challenge yourself to ask a deeper question.
2. Create a “follow-up” to let the people involved know you listened.
We might not have as much “time” together as we wish, so challenge yourself to create meaningful connection “more times” this week.
