Connectedness is not only built during scheduled training events—it grows in the small, deliberate choices leaders make every day. Gratitude is one of the most practical tools leaders have. Begin by noticing: Pay attention to what others do AND how they do it. Secondly, name it—be specific about BOTH the behavior and the impact.
Lastly, return later and ask, “What made what you did possible, and how can we repeat it?” This rhythm turns appreciation into alignment; it makes clear what matters most. In fast-moving, changing times, gratitude isn’t fluff. It’s a signal. And when leaders send that signal consistently, connection and readiness take root.
