SETTING THE STAGE: TRAINING TRENDS SURVEY 2025
The results of our first survey, a two-day snapshot poll conducted in November 2024, offer a fascinating glimpse into the forces driving corporate training in the coming year. With input from the L&D Professionals Club (boasting nearly 400,000 members and 18-plus million content engagements), the survey captures the perspectives of a global community of L&D professionals.
Key findings include:
1. Artificial intelligence (AI) personalized learning takes center stage. When asked about the trend most likely to impact corporate training in 2025, a resounding 58% of respondents pointed to AI personalized learning. The advent of artificial intelligence has revolutionized the way training is delivered, enabling programs tailored to individual needs and learning speeds. As one survey respondent noted, “AI doesn’t just personalize; it optimizes learning experiences in real time.”
This shift signifies an exciting opportunity for organizations to harness AI-driven analytics, ensuring employees not only learn but retain and apply knowledge effectively.

2. The rise of microlearning. The concept of bite-sized, focused training modules— known as microlearning—garnered 20% of votes as the second most impactful trend for 2025. Its appeal lies in its adaptability to modern schedules and its ability to address specific skills gaps. Whether it’s a five-minute video or a quick interactive quiz, microlearning is becoming indispensable for timecrunched professionals. Some 85% of respondents believe microlearning will gain even more traction this year.
3.Hybrid learning models are bridging the gap. The pandemic’s influence on learning continues, with 19% of respondents highlighting hybrid learning models as a key trend. Combining in-person and virtual learning, these models offer flexibility while fostering collaboration.
4.The ESG imperative. Surprisingly, while only 3% of respondents chose ESG topics (Environmental, Social, and Governance) as the top trend, a separate question revealed that 69% foresee increased emphasis on ESG in corporate training programs by 2025. This underscores the growing recognition of sustainability, diversity, and ethical practices as core business competencies.
