LMS Surveys Say…

According to a survey of 155 Human Resources professionals who currently use a learning management system (LMS) at least monthly, the most used LMS software feature is trainee testing, followed by training administration.

With the learning management system (LMS) market predicted to reach nearly $8 billion by 2018, it becomes increasingly important to evaluate organizations’ use of these systems, benefits and challenges, and future investment plans.

Software Advice conducted a survey of 155 Human Resources (HR) professionals who currently use an LMS at least monthly. Key findings include:

  • The most used LMS software feature is trainee testing (cited by 73% of users), followed by training administration (68%).
  • LMS software positively affects the organization of content and training efficiency for 99% of users surveyed.
  • The top challenge for LMS users is the integration of LMS software with other systems, cited by 32% of survey respondents.
  • The vast majority use LMS software on their desktop computers (89%) and laptops (76%), while just 19% access these solutions via smartphone.
  • 90% of survey respondents plan to maintain or increase their investment in LMS software over the next year.
