The latest training industry mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and more.

  • In partnership with the International Youth Foundation, McDonald’s announced the extension of the Passport to Success (PTS) Explorer digital curriculum to provide job readiness and life skills training to 100,000 young people from various nonprofits, community organizations, and post-secondary institutions supporting diverse communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The PTS Explorer digital curriculum provides youth the opportunity to learn valuable life skills, such as self-awareness and management, communication skills, healthy relationship building, and conflict management.
  • Workforce upskilling platform Degreed formed a strategic partnership with TED to launch TED@Work for Degreed, a learning experience created for Degreed clients. TED@Work, a new product from TED, offers a library of TED content that has been curated for business, with reflection prompts and discussion resources to make TED Talks actionable for upskilling efforts and workplace learning. Now for Degreed clients, TED@Work has been designed and built natively within the Degreed platform to create an immersive and engaging experience for workers and learning teams.
  • TiER1 Impact acquired learning and talent management consulting firm rapidLD. TiER1 Impact, parent company of strategy activation firm TiER1 Performance, is a newly formed professional services and investment entity. rapidLD is the first formal acquisition under the TiER1 Impact umbrella.
  • Facebook partnered with Coursera to launch a new Social Media Marketing Professional Certificate. The five-course certificate program is designed for learners without a college degree or any prior experience to become ready for social media marketing jobs within a few months.
  • BenchPrep, a leading provider of cloud-based learning products for corporations, training companies, and nonprofits, partnered with Springer Publishing, a publisher of healthcare and behavioral sciences content, and will provide digital access to Springer’s content to the organization’s learners.
  • Go1 and LMS365 partnered to offer access from the LMS365 platform to the Go1 Content Hub. Through this partnership, organizations across industries now can offer training content to all their employees through Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online.
  • Inkling, a global leader in digital learning solutions, entered a partnership with The Educe Groupa provider of talent management consulting services. The partnership will focus on enhancing Inkling’s integration into key organizational processes through the use of Educe microapps.
  • CrossKnowledgea leader in digital learning solutions, and Elucidatan e-learning authoring platform for big employers, joined forces to help clients speed and scale up the delivery of personalized and engaging training for large enterprises through e-earning.
  • Learning Technologies Group plc (LTG) acquired eThink Education, one of the largest Moodle providers in the world and a Platinum Totara Partner. With this addition, Open LMS, a subsidiary of LTG, will bolster its credentials in the high-growth Moodle market and expand its presence in North America by joining the largest commercial provider of the Moodle open source Learning Management System (LMS).
