Komatsu America Corp. selected Heartwood, Inc., a supplier of 3-D interactive training technologies, to develop custom 3-D virtual training courseware to train operation and maintenance personnel.

Arby’s Restaurant Group is now a corporate partner of Bellevue University. The University, with input from Arby’s executive management team, developed a custom learning program, “Arby’s Business Management & Leadership,” exclusively for Arby’s team members. Upon completion of the program, Arby’s team members earn a certificate of completion worth 36 college credits that may be applied to Bellevue University’s Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management & Leadership.

Bloomfire announced a partnership with IBM to integrate its Watson cognitive computing system’s natural language processing technology with Bloomfire’s social knowledge network software. Using Watson’s advanced data insights APIs, Bloomfire customers now can automatically tag content to improve users’ ability to search and find information.

Boeing acquired Peters Software GmbH, a provider of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)-based training content for early stage pilot training. Located in Cologne, Germany, Peters Software specializes in curriculum and materials for commercial and private pilots operating in rapidly growing markets aligned with EASA.

Pearson is partnering with the Ariel Group to deliver a new online learning and development service called Presence Essentials that uses principles from actor training and empowers organizations to improve employees’ communication skills and develop their “presence” in the workplace. “Presence” is the ability to make authentic connections through dynamic communication.
