The Choice Was Yours!

Training magazine is excited to congratulate the winners of our first-ever vendor awards program—the Training Magazine Network Choice Awards—who were chosen by…YOU!

Training is kicking off 2020 with a bang! We’re excited to congratulate the winners of our first-ever vendor awards program—the Training Magazine Network Choice Awards—who were chosen by…YOU!

That’s right, this crowd-sourced awards program relied on the 147,000-plus members of our Training Magazine Network (TMN) to rate the vendor tools and solutions they use consistently and have found to be most effective in their work. Thanks to all of you who voted—we couldn’t have created this awards program without you!

TMN has always been a highly engaged, collaborative, and vocal community, as evidenced by the social networking groups that have formed around specific training and learning topics over the years and by the chat conversations and peer learning happening during multiple TMN Webinars held each week. Every day, members generously share with each other their challenges and solutions, best practices and expertise, and lessons learned. We saw the tremendous value of this learning and development community’s hands-on experience and collective knowledge and wanted to share it with the rest of the Training audience.

In tandem with the Training Magazine Network Choice Awards, TMN launched an online directory (www.trainingmagnetwork.com/awards), which provides lists the winners and provides contact information and other details. A new set of Training Magazine Network Choice Award winners will be added each year, and we plan to expand the awards program with additional categories in the coming year. If you are not yet a TMN member, visit www.TrainingMagNetwork.com to register (it’s free!). Voting for the 2020 TMN Choice Awards will open in June.

In keeping with the “winning” theme of this issue, congratulations to the latest winners of our Emerging Training Leaders Awards! These talented Learning and Development professionals were nominated by their peers and have demonstrated extraordinary leadership skills, business acumen, and innovation. See “Driving Forces” to read about their accomplishments.

You may notice that a few of the Emerging Training Leaders have degrees in psychology. That education can be invaluable when it comes to training as experts are finding that neuroscience and psychology may be the keys to successful training and organizational success. Our cover story, “Engage the Brain,” explores how trainers can tap into neural pathways to create program content that resonates—and sticks—with learners.

If you are looking to discover additional ways to enhance your training content, engage your learners, and hone your skills, I invite you to join us at our Training 2020 Conference & Expo February 24-26 in sunny Orlando, FL. Register today at www.TrainingConference.com. We firmly believe Training matters!—and we hope you will tell us what it means to you at Training 2020!
