Training Today: Training Goes to China

Training magazine’s first-ever conference in China focused on “Taking E-Learning to the Next Level.”

More than 460 training and learning executives and practitioners gathered in Shanghai in April to attend Training magazine’s first-ever conference in China, organized by Training’s exclusive Chinese partner, ACT Group. The focus was “Taking E-Learning to the Next Level,” through the expanded use of mobile and social learning and gamification. Speakers included mobile learning expert A.J. Ripin, VP of Strategic Engagement, Moving Knowledge; Mathew Tang, former Training manager and mobile learning developer at Lowe’s; and e-learning expert Ray Jimenez. Lowe’s use of electronic performance support epitomized one of the conference’s main themes: using mobile devices to give aisle sales associates the information they need just when and where they need it.

Training’s second 2013 Chinese conference will be held August 27 in Shanghai and repeated on August 29 in Guangzhou. Speakers will include performance consulting expert Judith Hale and e-learning development authority Bryan Chapman.
