AI Skills Dominate Job Postings

A 200% growth in generative AI usage in the education and training industries indicates rapid change ahead, according to a recent Lightcast report.

AI has fundamentally transformed hiring patterns across the world of work, with 51% of job postings requiring AI skills outside IT and computer science occupations as of 2024, according to Lightcast’s newly released report, Beyond the Buzz: Developing the AI Skills Employers Actually Need.

Based on analysis of more than 1.3 billion job postings, the report notes the following findings for two critical career areas:

• HR: 66% growth rate, leading all sectors, with talent acquisition roles driving adoption
