Nearly 70% of eLearners participate in eLearning on a weekly basis or more frequently, according to Click, Learn, Repeat, a report based on a survey of 500 respondents produced by voiceover marketplace Voices. Additional findings include:
- Some 22% have invested up to $500 in eLearning courses; 22% have invested between $500 and $999 in eLearning; and 30% have invested $1,000 or more in eLearning in the last two years. Some 26% said they only participate in free eLearning.
- Career advancement (60%) and personal interests or hobbies (58%) are primary motivators for participating in eLearning. Learners also turn to eLearning for academic purposes (45%), certification programs (32%), learning new technologies or software (34%), and learning new languages (25%).
- Interactive eLearning is more popular among the younger age group: 40% of respondents age 18 to 29 said interactive eLearning is one of their preferred formats, compared to 27% of those age 45 to 60.
- Some 83% of learners prefer courses that include audio narration alongside visual content. Some 80% said they prefer one consistent narrator voice for large volumes of material.
- Some 65% of learners reported they can’t tell the difference between artificial intelligence-generated (AI) voices and human narration.
