Sticky Notes: Don’t Lose Sight of the Basics

When evaluating options for online courses, don’t lose sight of the tried-and-true basics.

With so much training technology available today, it can be difficult to decide which is right for your team or organization. While online courses boomed during the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, they seem to be here to stay. When evaluating these options, don’t lose sight of the tried-and-true basics:

  • Engage managers in the training process by turning them into coaches.
  • Tell people what to do, and how to do it.
  • Track performance every step of the way.
  • Debrief on what went right, wrong, and average.
  • Think ahead about how to improve next time.
  • Recognize and reward success.
