Sticky Notes: Soft Skills: A Key Part of the Equation

Organizations need to always remember the importance of soft skills and the training required to continuously hone them.

Hard skills minus soft skills are much less than the diminished sum of the parts. Even if

the nurse is great at inserting needles, if they don’t take notes correctly, then patients will suffer.

the computer programmer writes great code, unless they understand user needs, the code goes nowhere.

the data analyst is a master at reporting, if they don’t follow through, leaders could be starved of timely key performance indicators.

engineers can design and develop, unless they coordinate with the team, there will be stress and conflict.

the accountant knows the audit process, unless they pay attention to details, someone might go to jail.
